Our Friends

from Fr Harri Williams SSC – Priest in Charge

Since the day over ninety years ago when my predecessor Fr Hope Patten installed the image of Our Lady of Walsingham in the Guilds Chapel in S.Mary’s, Walsingham Parish Church has been a vital integral part of the Pilgrimage. It is rare indeed for pilgrims to visit the Shrine and the Holy House without also visiting S.Mary’s for the Parish Mass, or to light a candle or two, or simply to drink in the unique atmosphere of this holy place. Which is why our PCC has decided that a means should be found whereby those pilgrims and other visitors who love S.Mary’s should be enabled to keep in touch with the life of the parish and to make a modest annual contribution towards its upkeep. And so, to mark the Golden Jubilee in 2014 of the re-consecration of the Church following the disastrous fire of 1961, we are launching the newly-formed Friends of S.Mary, Walsingham.

I hope that you will take this opportunity of becoming a Friend of S.Mary, Walsingham and that you will complete and return the Application Form etc to the Secretary of the Friends.
